Last week the most dominant golfer in the world ranked up yet another win.

With the first major of the year upon us there is only one question on everybody’s lips.

Can anyone beat Yani Tseng?

The 23 year old Taiwanese already has 5 Majors, 15 LPGA and 17 worldwide wins, yes 23!

She has won 3 of the 1st 5 LPGA events this year and is only 4 points from entering the World Golf Hall Of Fame, that 4 more wind or 2 majors. So by the age of 24 she will be in!

For some reason, best known to only media themselves, she continues to go unheralded, why?

No golfer, living or dead, male or female, has come close to her achievements.

So who, if anyone, can beat her in the Kraft Nabisco Championship?

Well the last 5 winners have all been in there 20’s so will experience matter?

Also only 2 Asian players, Tseng and Grace Park have one there, so we due another surprise?

I will go with 5 to watch:

Catriona Matthew

I don’t think anyone, even Beany herself, saw her getting a top ten last week after a disappointing 1st round.

But boy did she come back into it with a combination of class and determination.

On her day she can destroy any field out there and as she proved in the Solheim cup when she is in the zone simply wave a white flag.

The 42 year old Scot will be there or there about come Sunday.

Suzann Petersen 

Suzann has 3 2nd places in the Kraft so she has knocked on the door a couple of times.

I find it amazing that she has only won 1 major up to now, the LPGA in 2007.

In fact the 30 year old has less than half the wins that Tseng has, I was surprised by that.

Suzann is a stunning player, she can destroy a field but at the same time she can self destruct at any time too.

Depending which Suzann turns up it could be interesting.

Paula Creamer.

At 25 it just may be time for Paula to step up to the plate.

I thought when she won the US Open in 2010 it was going to launch her into a Hall of Fame career, but that was her last win.

I honestly think her career has flattered to deceive at this point and she has not lived up to her early billing, so why tip her ?

Because she can still be the player we all thought she was going to be.

Ai Miyazato  

She really has total game.

After failing to have the immediate impact, that everyone though she was going have on the LPGA, there has been a very steady progress.

But she has the added pressure of a huge, and I mean HUGE, media presence around her at every tournament.

I followed her for a while at Carnoustie but, in the end, gave up. The Japanese media show no courtesy to her playing partners or the general public and I honestly believe this has held her back, but she now knows how to handle them better than anyone.

Cristie Kerr

YES I said Cristie Kerr!! Anyone who knows me knows I am a million miles away from being a fan, I just don’t like her.

But she is a good golfer.

Her attitude, or self belief, cost her country and team mates the Solheim Cup, of that I will always be convinced.

But that same arrogant self belief  is what makes her a contender.

Do not be surprised if you see her in Poppies Pond come April Fools day.
