Woman you are all second class citizens, you are not equals, not to be treated as with respect, in fact you should just accept your meaningless role in life!!
Well in golfing terms at least.
If you don’t believe me read the excellent piece by Stina Sternberg if Golf Digest.
It make me wonder just how sexist are Tim Finchen & Peter Dawson are in real life??
Do they treat woman with the same disgust and disrespect that they do in their professional capacity ?
What Mr Fincham basically said during his press conference at Ponte Vedra ahead of the Players Championship was that the PGA yes we are against sexism & racism, except when it suits us to ignore these issues.
What Messers Fincham & Dawson basically do is openly support sexism with in golf, simple as that.
These 2 men should be standard bearers in growing golf and breaking down barriers, that fact that neither do a thing, a single thing against sexism in golf must mean they support it, does it ?
I wonder if, for example, Royal St Georges got sued for banning a person of colour from joining the club would the R&A still award the Open Championship to the club?
If they did would there not be outrage in the mainstream press and a political fall out?
To damn right there would be!
But hold on a second we are only talking about woman here!! That’s the attitude
ONLY WOMEN
Well I for one am sick to the back teeth of the whole damn thing!
Its 2012 for gods sake not 1812!
It is beyond pathetic!
Maybe what we need is some good old fashioned civil disobedience ?
Maybe on the Saturday of the Open Championship, The PGA and the US Open, we get a few thousand women together and occupy the 18th green with a sit down protest?
Extreme ?
Well it might be the only way to get the main stream media and politicians to sit up and take notice!
No doubt the dynamic duo will simply call them “silly little things who don’t understand the real world”
I have no idea how it works in the States but I can guarantee you that if any club in the UK banned a person based on colour or race the media would have a field day! Questions would be asked in the House of commons for sure.
But its only women after all.
We, the US & UK, go to war under the banner of brining democracy to other countries, yet in golf ?
We need to grow golf, we need to make golf accessible to everyone, regardless of back ground, race, religion and, yes, sex.
Until those in authority stand up and openly attack sexist clubs this will never ever happen.
I wonder if Messers Finchem & Dawson have the balls to do this? I think not.
Why do I get the feeling I will probably be writing the same thing in a years time?
Mr Dawson has said the R&A will continue to award the Open Championship to the best links courses available & will not interfere with the internal operations of any club.
Well Mr Dawson, in my opinion, the R&A owe to golf to eradicate sexism from every golf club in the UK, so why don’t you ?
